Sewing Masks and Hospital Gowns
To supplement the inventory of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital, other regional healthcare facilities, and essential workers, please help our community of volunteers who have started to sew masks, surgical gowns, and caps. This is in response to the Center for Disease Control's guidance that homemade masks and gowns are a crisis response option when other supplies have been exhausted.
You’ll find the directions on how to make masks and gowns by clicking on the the navigation bar above (the pattern for the caps will be posted soon). We currently have 106 folks sewing, but we need more help! If you can help sew, please contact us. If you can’t sew but want to donate, we need 1/4” or 3/8” flat elastic and new 100% cotton, and polypropylene fabric.
Thank you very much for your help!
DO YOU NEED A FACE MASK? PLEASE FILL OUT THIS REQUEST FORM
Before volunteering please read:
Have you been in contact with anyone suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19 in the past 14 days?
Do you have fever, cough, or shortness of breath?
If you are able to answer "NO" to both questions, then proceed with making masks and/or gowns.
If you answer "YES" to either or both questions, please do not make masks or gowns. If you are experiencing cough, fever, or shortness of breath and have a concern that you may have COVID-19, please call your primary care provider.
